Recipe Submitted By  Thelma Tincher Tolbert  my eighty six year old neighbor. Thelma said her mother “Lovie Goode Tincher  born in 1902 showed her how to make this recipe that she still uses today.. one of Thelma’s favorite dishes.

TOMATO DUMPLINGS this recipe makes enough for one or two people , also add sugar to your liking..

Peel tomatoes (2 large ripe) put into cook, add butter salt and pepper and a tsp sugar (add more to your liking)_ , some water. (Can also use canned tomatoes  but Thelma say’s fresh is best)

Make your batter for your dumplings like normal (self rising flour, oil, water mix)

Drop in to boiling kettle, put on lid and turn down heat to simmer

let sit at least 7-10 minutes then take off heat and enjoy
