Sweet Dill Pickles

1″ thick pickling cucumber slices

1 bulb garlic

1 sprig of dill or 1 heaping teaspoon of dill seed 

syrup: ( heat to a boil on stove top before adding to jars)

3 cups sugar

1 cup vinegar ( 1/2 cup white & 1/2 cup apple cider)

3 cups of water

1 teaspoon salt 

makes about 3 quarts
