  • Patricia Stover This is a very old tried and true recipe and a quick cake to make. *I hope I haven’t already posted this one.
  • Lynn McGinnis Hmm, I don’t remember seeing it!
Is it heavy, like a pound cake?
  • Patricia Stover I checked and I hadn’t posted this recipe. Lynn, this is similiar to a pound cake but not quite as dense. My family has made this cake for decades. I like it with fresh strawberries served w/ it.
  • Serena Adkins Ellison Mmm a good one right here
  • Rosalee Woodyard Butcher My mother has used this recipe for years, makes the most delicious cake…
  • Patricia Stover An oldie but a goodie!!!
  • Gayle Williamson I have made this too for years,, found instead of vanilla use half lemon and half almond flavoring for a change so the same with my pound cakes…pound cake recipe makes 2- 10in. cakes at a time so use tsp of each lemon and almond…Both cakes gone in a week—good for shortcake with any kind of berries too!!
  • Serena Adkins Ellison I think the old ones are the best ones..
