1 lb. fresh green beans OR 1 can of beans

4 cups water

1 tsp salt

pepper to taste

2 bay leaves

2 potatoes diced

2 Tbsp butter

2 Tbsp flour

1/2 pt sour cream

Cut up fresh green beans and cook in 4 cups of water with seasonings and bay leaves till tender.  Add potatoes

Cook ten minutes.

Melt butter in frying pan, and flour and brown slightly, like a roux

add to the bean soup. Season to taste.

Cook five minutes longer and add the sour cream.

Serves 4

Serve with cornbread
