After making 50-60 dozen Christmas cookies, I decided I needed one more batch of Snickerdoodles. (I had eaten 2/3 of the first batch…..) so I added it in to my list as I was finishing up Christmas week. For some reason, they were not flattening out at all. They came out of the oven the same way they went in. What the heck? It bothered me for about 4 pans that kept not turning out. I went over and over it in my head. Then it dawned on me. I looked at the counter and the baking soda was not among my ingredients sitting there…..yep! cookies don’t work without it!

  • I called my sister and said “I need you to talk me off the ledge….” LOL!
