This recipe you can make your own cookie dough and roll it up in waxed paper, stick in the freezer and if unexpected company drop in for a visit you can just grab these out of the freezer slice and in about 8 minutes you will have homemade fresh cookies from scratch..

COMPANY COOKIE DOUGH

3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

chocolate chips or m & m’s for topping if desire

Directions

Heat oven to 350 degrees F
beat brown sugar, sugar, butter, and shortening until light and fluffy.

Add vanilla and egg

Beat well.

Add flour, baking soda, and salt.

Mix well.

put on wax paper and shape into long log…wrap it up twisting the ends.. can put in a ziplock too at this point if you desire. then put in freezer


ready for some cookies? Just grab the log out of the freezer and open up the paper.. take knife and slice. Put slices on a ungreased cookie sheet and if desire sprinkle with choc chips or M& M’s

 

Bake in oven at 350 till edges brown a little ..

take out and let set a few minutes then use thin spatula to transfer to wire rack to cool

they should be crisp and chewy soft at the same time.. very good.
