CHOW CHOW

I have no idea where I got this recipe, and I have not tried it myself. It is handwritten and looks to be very old. I don’t like Chow Chow myself but I thought I would share this recipe with you all who do. I love for old recipes to stay alive as the generations go by. So please if you make it let me know how you liked it.

1PK Green Tomatoes

8 Large Onions

10 Green Bell Peppers

3 Tbsp Seasoning Salt

6 Hot Peppers

1 Qt. Vinegar

1 Tbsp. Cinnamon

1 Tbsp. Allspice

1/4 Tsp. Cloves

3 Tbsp. Mustard

Few Bay Leaves

1/2 Cup Horse Radish

1 3/4 Cup Sugar

Chop tomatoes, onions, peppers, and cover with Salt. Let Stand over night. Drain. Then add Hot peppers and vinegar spices.

boil until tender put into jars seal and process 180 degrees about 15 minutes.
