I made potato soup last night. Seeing your recipe made me want some.

In mine I put, 3 qts. water brought to a boil,

added 1 chopped onion,

1 chopped green pepper,

1 chicken bullion cube,

1 cup chopped ham,

1 lg. bag thawed frozen hash brown potatoes,

1/2 stick of butter,

1 Tbs. salt (more or less to your taste).

When it was done I added 2 blocks of cream cheese, and served with cornbread.
