STORY SUBMITTED BY Patricia Stover

I made a Hot Milk Cake in the 1980’s but I was out of milk so I sent my husband to the little country store to buy a pint of milk. He brought it home and I didn’t bother looking at the amount; I just added it all in the pot to be scalded milk, to put in the batter. I put the timer on, tested it, it wasn’t done. I did this about 3 times and it never did get done!!! I was devastated!!! Later, I realized that I had put double the amount of milk in the cake recipe!
