WHOLE OLD FASHIONED APPLE DUMPLINGS

PEEL AND CORE 6 Apples is your choice I am using gala apples today

you can make pie crust or purchase pre made pie crust whatever you choose.

I do both according to my mood.. today I am using pre made pie crusts that I have cut in quarters (for six large apples you need four rounds .. that is equivalent to the top and bottom crust of two pies if your using my homemade crust recipe)

in small bowl add brown sugar and a little cinnamon sugar

Sprayer butter  9×13 dish

roll peeled apple in the bowl of brown sugar

Take two quarters and set cored apple in middle.
then add 1 Tbsp brown sugar to center

add 1/2 Tbsp oats, add 1/2 tsp sugar conn mixture and finish plugging core with a tab of real butter

pull up sides then bring all together in center

roll in cinnamon sugar and brown sugar

place in dish and repeat until all are done

preheat oven to 400 degrees

place in oven and bake for 30 minutes

then ladle your syrup over top  and bake 10-12 more minutes

Syrup

on stovetop in heavy sauce pan add 2 cups water 1 heaping cup brown sugar, 2 cups white sugar and 1 Tbsp oats, 1 tbsp maple syrup

let boil, stir some and continue to let boil down into a syrup

after 30 minutes of baking is done on apples you ladles most of syrup over apples and the rest you can have over ice cream
