SERENA’S SLOW ROASTED INDOOR PULLED PORK

So it is the dead of winter.. snow on the ground and you want that good tasting PULLED PORK… here is what you do and it is done WITHOUT a grill.

I took a frozen pork shoulder blade roast

and I put it into my large crock pot fat side facing up

pour a coffee cup of water over top

mince up 2-3 cloves of fresh garlic

small to medium onion chopped

3 large green apples peeled and sliced

I put all the apples around and on top .. the garlic on top and the onions scattered around the roast …

I put the roast on before bed.. around 9:30 pm and put lid on and leave it on low.. let it cook over night about 12 hours

about 10 am in the morning you take it out very carefully and put on a slotted roasting pan with some of the apples on top

salt pepper and a little old bay seasoning….

put in oven on BROIL for about 14 minutes or so I don’t time.. just long enough to crisp the fat that will stay and drain the rest that will be going…

okay now you take it out and you carefully scrape with knife the LOOSE fat off top

pour some of your crock pot broth over top of your pork roast   salt and pepper, and put back into oven on BROIL..

you want it to BROWN a little not burn.. take it out half way and LIGHTLY brush with some smoke BBQ Sauce or your favorite sauce and let broil a little more till bbq starts to turn..

pour some broth over top..let rest a moment and carefully, using two spatulas, move over to serving platter and pour a bit more over top

serve with BBQ Baked Beans, some BBQ sauce, and of course some Cheesy Mashed Potatoes..

save leftovers for Sandwiches..
