4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1 cup butter (softened)

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 egg

1/2 cup sour cream

1 teaspoon vanilla 

1. Sift flour with baking powder, soda,, salt and nutmeg. 

2. In a large bowl at medium speed, beat butter, sugar and egg until light and fluffy. 

3. At low speed, beat in sour cream and vanilla. 

4. Gradually add flour mixture, beating well. 

5. Form dough into a ball, wrap in waxed paper or foil, refrigerate several hours or overnight. 

6. Divede dough into 4 parts. Roll out one section at a time. Roll out lightly onto a floured surface. Cut with cookie cutters. 

Bake 375 for 10 – 12 minutes.
