1 c. self rising flour

1 c. sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

1/2 c. milk

1/2 c. shortening 

Melt shortening. When cool beat in eggs. Stir in milk and vanilla. Combine with other ingredients and stir until cool. Pour into greased and floured pans. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. 

FROSTING:

1/2 c. milk

1 tsp. vanilla

3 tbsp. cocoa (1/2 c.)

2 1/2 c. sugar

1 stick butter 

Mix ingredients together over medium heat. Bring to a boil. Let boil for 1 minute. Pour on cake immediately going slowly as frosting will run until hardened. (If you have frosting leftover, placing it in a bowl or pan will give you hardened fudge to eat when cool.)
