6 eggs (white shelled)

White wax crayon

Dry skins of yellow onions

Put the dry brown skins from the onions in a medium sized pot. Using the wax crayon, write children’s names, Easter messages, etc. on the egg shells. Put the eggs in the pot with the onion skins. Add water to cover, pushing the onion skins down into the water. Cook as for hard-cooked eggs. The skins will color the eggs as they cook and the “magic” writing will appear. It’s a fun thing to surprise the kids by doing the writing the night before without telling them!
