LEMON POUND CAKE

3 sticks softened butter

2 1/2 c sugar

cream together

add 5 room temp eggs 1 at a time.

 

sift in separate bowl

3 1/4 cups flour

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp baking powder

take half of the dry ingredients in your mixing bowl with the creamed mixture slowly add in 1/2 cup buttermilk

dont over mix.

then add the rest of the dry ingredients

dissolve 1 tsp of crystalized lemon in 1/4 cup of room temp lemon juice slowly drizzle in along with 1 tsp vanilla

bake 325 for 1 hour and 15 minutes

glaze with lemon glaze
