Recipe & Photo Submitted by Lynn McGinnis

I told someone a few days ago that I had a recipe for brownies that required 1 – 16 oz can of Hershey Syrup. I finally remembered to post it. Sorry, although I have made these yummy, moist brownies many times with great success, I do not have a picture on hand. Recipe follows:

IOWA BROWNIES
Bake at 350 for 25 minutes in 9×13 pan
1/2 Cup soft butter
1 to 1 1/2 Cups sugar
cream together well
1 – 16 oz. can chocolate syrup and slowly add
4 eggs – one at a time mixing well after each – stir in
1 Cup flour, sifted
1 Cup nuts, chopped – optional
TOPPING
1 Cup butter
1 – 1 1/2 Cups sugar
1/3 Cup evaporated milk
Bring these to boil & boil 2 minutes
Remove from heat and add 1/2 Cup chocolate chips, stir until
chips are dissolved, quickly spread on brownies
Enjoy! We all do!
