  • It makes 3 gallons or at least the one me and my mom does…So if you have a bucket with a lid, which I use a cat litter bucket to put my washing detergent in and then you can transfer it to your old laundry bottle…I just have a regular washer and I use about 2 lids full, but my sister has an HE washer and she uses 2 1/2 lids full…It takes a little more of this detergent in your wash but you are getting more for your money by making your own…Have you noticed the prices on Tide? WOW!

    
    Kimbra Essary Henson Also once you make your washing detergent it is best to let it set for 24 hours, it will thicken a little bit, gelled some! 🙂 and it makes your home smell wonderful while making it! 🙂

    Laura Humphrey You can also keep the ingredients dry and mix into a small container and voila, you have powdered laundry soap. You only use 1 TBS per load, and it does not suds, so don’t add more thinking it will. I ♥ homemade laundry soap for its simplicity and money savings.
