1 – 3 lbs. hamburger (your choice in ground beef, chuck, etc.)

1 (64 oz.) can tomato juice (any brand)

1 lg. can crushed tomatoes

Salt & pepper to taste

The following vegetables are optional:

1 lg. can whole tomatoes

Several grated carrots

Several grated celery sticks

1 bag frozen corn

onion

 

1. Take a large pot and sprinkle salt on the bottom of the pot.

2. Brown the beef in the pot until done, stirring often over medium heat.

3. Add the 64 ounce can of tomato juice to the hamburger.

4. Add the crushed tomatoes, salt and pepper to taste.

5. Add the rest of the vegetables that you want.

6. Simmer over low heat for about 20 to 30 minutes.

 

7. Serve with crackers.
