3 cups dried fruit

(apples, apricots, cherries, peaches, or pears)

3 cups boiling water

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup flour

1/2 cup butter or margarine, cut into small pieces

1 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/2 cup reg or quick oats

1 tbsp cornstartch

1 tbsp sugar

 

cut dried fruits into small pieces. Cover with boiling water and let stand 30 minutes.

Make crumb topping  by combining  brown sugar flour butter cinnamon and nutmeg. Add oats to mixture. combine cornstarch and sugar sprinkle over reconstituted fruit and mix well. Place fruit in buttered 8x8x2 inch baking pan. Cover with crumb topping and bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until bubbly edges. cool.
