(taken from my Lego Church Cookbook by Kathryn Moomaw in memory of Myrtle Maude Puckett)

2 (3lb) CRISCO CANS

2 1/2 pts. COLD WATER

1 WOODEN PADDLE

1 can of LYE

1 handful of BORAX

1 Tbsp. PINE DISINFECTANT

Crisco must be warm enough to strain. Use a wooden paddle to stir in 1 can of Lye until all crystals are dissolved. Lye will make the water warm. Set aside until both grease and water are cool. Then pour together, and stir with wooden paddle, adding a handful of borax and a Tbsp of pine disinfectant.

The Borax makes the soup white. Always use Enamel or Crockery utensils to make soup NEVER Aluminum. . When the mixture is solidified cut into desired shapes and keep where it can dry to harden off.
