Crockpot Caramel out of a can:

Unopened can of sweetened condensed milk  take label off + 8 hours on low (I did 5 hours on HIGH)

..  (completely submerged in water) in the crock pot

When it is ready to be taken out you can tell the top is barely hooved (I cooked mine around 5 hours on high  and it came out fine…but I saw on the web people did it 8 hours on low so whatever works for you)

So now time to take out use some tongs

let it rest

so your supposed to let it rest THEN put it in the fridge to set up to thick caramel but I had a cake ready needing it and so I decided to go for it.. I used a hand held can opener and as soon as I cut into it it did a little pop from the air release and some caramel shot up..

Stove Version: Unopened can of sweetened condensed milk in pot on stove eye completely submerged in water, let boil for 3 hours + cool down in the fridge = Caramel!
