LASAGNA SOUP

RECIPE AND PHOTOS SUBMITTED BY Debbie Fann Young

it is so easy and soooo good! you put parm, and mozz cheese on top before serving and it melts into it so good!

brown some hamburger and onions , drain, add in some garlic and some italian spices.. stir in 1 tablespoon brown sugar add 32 oc chicken broth add 2 cans petie dices tomatoes I use the italian style… add in 15 oz of tomato sauce add salt and pepper to taste… break up about 2 cups of lasagna noodles and simmer in the soup till done… I used more noodles about 3/4 of a box… then last you add one small tub of the real parmesean cheese grated on top and I added some mozzerella too! that is basically it.. and I usually double my recipes but this was plenty for us and I took my parents some too…. it will tast great in this blizzard weather… and it is different from the usual soups we make… really has a great taste…. I loved it… and the gooey melted cheese is so good!

TA-DA! I made this tonight, and took a picture of  Debbie’s “Lasagna Soup” before I handed it to hubby.
IT IS DEEEEELISH! I only changed a couple things. I had some Mild Italian sausage in the fridge needing to be used. So.. I browned the sausage with the onions (drained well) and continued on. I did everything else the same, but I did add some fresh basil to the simmer phase AND I sprinkled mine with fresh basil before I ate it. THIS IS SOOO EASY AND SOOO GOOD! And.. like all soup.. it will be better tomorrow! There’s actually quite a few cooked lasagna noodles in it,b ut they are hidden under the mozzarella cheese topping. Served it with garlic French bread.
