Ingredients:

1/4 Cup light corn syrup

2 Tablespoons sugar

1 Tablespoon butter

3 Cups Rice Krispies cereal

1 Quart any flavor ice cream or frozen yogurt

Assorted ice cream sundae toppings (chocolate, butterscotch and strawberry)

Chopped nuts

Whipped cream

Directions:

Butter a 9 inch pie plate.

In a saucepan, combine corn syrup, sugar and margarine. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, just until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat. Gradually add cereal stirring until all pieces are evenly coated. Press evenly into prepared pie plate, cover with plastic wrap and chill in refrigerator for 20 minutes or until firm and ready to serve.

Just before serving, fill entire prepared pie crust with scoops of ice cream. Drizzle assorted sundae toppings over ice cream and sprinkle with nuts. Serve with whipped cream or marshmallow cream on the side.

VARIATIONS: Make a banana split sundae pie, by adding sliced bananas on top of the ice cream (before the sundae toppings).

If desired, you may also add a light layer of sprinkles or jimmies and M&M’s over the ice cream.
