Use “basic yeast dough recipe” posted on this site.. for this recipe..

Prepare dough let rise

cook 1 1/2 cups chopped dates

1/3 cup water

and 1/2 cup brown sugar over low heat for 10 minutes and add 3/4 cup chopped nuts

 

Roll…. dough to 12×18 rectangle

spread with date filling

Fold dough over in thirds lengthwise cut into 15 strips

Twist each strip twice. place on greased cookie sheet.

 

Let rise… in warm place until light. about double in  bulk

bake in oven 375 15-20 minutes.

Frost with confectionary sugar icing (mixture of conf sugar and small amount of water or milk)

makes 16 twists.
