CARAMEL NUT SLICES

Carmel Nut Slices
from the kitchen of Cherie Antin Fasbinder
1 C. Shortening
2 C. Brown sugar
2 Eggs
3 1/2 C. Sifted flour
1 tsp. Baking soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 C. nuts
Mix shortening, brown sugar and eggs together. Add remaining ingredients. Shape into a log; wrap in waxed paper and chill in refrigerator overnight. Slice 3/8” slices and bake at 400° for 8-10 minutes. If you prefer them not as crispy, bake at 350°.
