HOW TO MAKE CONFECTIONARY SUGAR

Although I keep confectionary sugar on hand at all times sometimes I run low. Here is an easy way to add back to your stash without running out to the store using only one ingredient.. well two really. You only need one if making to use right then but if you are going to store it at all you need to add cornstarch so it won’t stick and clump together.. rule of thumb 1 tbsp to every 1 cup of sugar you will use.

I recommend making small batches at a time unless you have a super good vitamix blender or something.. I have used my Nutra Bullet and my food processor or a simple blender.. my Nutra Bullet seems to be the easiest for me.

so small batches..

this is 2 cups of granulated sugar and 2 tbsp of cornstarch. you can cut it in half or do it all together.

Pulse it and if it is still grainy you have not reached your goal.

It should be powdery and increase in volume ALMOST double.

I started with 2 cups sugar and ended up with 3 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Fill that container back up and you are ready for the next dessert.
