Serena’s Herbed Gravy

Tab Butter

Self Rising Flour

Veg Oil

1 can evaporated milk

water

salt

pepper

Fine italian herbed bread crumbs

I can’t give you exact measurements cause there are none… I just do it …

I start with a skillet and a tab of butter, a bit of oil get hot and scatter your self rising flour in hot oil and butter…use a wooden spoon to mix… let it brown as you stir.. once browned you will throw in your herbed bread crumbs, keep stiring.. it will smell great but look very thick at this point… you want to add 1 can of evaporated milk and stir with whisk at this point.. it should be boiling… then fill up a glass of water and add slowly to the mixture as you stir.. thining it out .. you will add some salt and pepper to taste. it should be thick but thin enough to pour over mashed potatoes.. very flavorful .

enjoy topped over mashed potatoes or home fries,  with fried chicken and green beans.
