FRIED PICKLES

you either will hate them or you’ll like them.. these are not for everyone.

1 cup self rising flour

Tbsp Cornstarch (optional)

1 cup cornmeal  (I prefer yellow self rising)

salt

pepper

pinch crushed red pepper flakes

tsp garlic powder

couple splashes of Hot Sauce.. (Texas Pete)

1/2 cup buttermilk

4 eggs

veg oil for frying

Ranch dressing for dipping

  • Directions

Mix dry ingredients  with fork

mix eggs, and hot sauce, add in buttermilk, mix with fork

heat oil

coat dill pickle slices or spears  in the egg mixture

then in flour mixture

shake off excess flour and put into basket

fry till totally crispy and pull out and onto slotted draining pan or paper towels..

shake with salt and serve warm with cold dressing and chives
