Not cooking, but good info…just learned that if you want to keep a flexible ice pack in the freezer you just add Karo syrup to the water you place in a qt. sized freezer bag & it will serve the purpose without freezing into a block.
  • Serena Adkins Ellison WOW.. that is simple enough.. thanks
  • Cherie Antin Fasbinder great idea. Also, sew a little sack – fill with raw rice. You can freeze it for an ice pack, or microwave for 1 minute for a nice heat pack.
  • Lynn McGinnis I have a rice sock I’ve used for years. Love it for moist heat.
  • Serena Adkins Ellison we have one of those too.. we love it.. we had to throw our old one away finally this year cause it started smelling LOL.. we ordered one online just like it.. they are called the original bed buddy..
  • Serena Adkins Ellison we can heat our rice sock in the microwave and use it for sore neck muscles
  • Felicia Lisa I have a 10 yr old lg bag of frozen corn in my freezer. One good whack on the counter and I can shape that thing into any shape needed. I’ve marked it with a black X so I don’t ever have a brain freeze and try to feed it to my family….LOL
  • Serena Adkins Ellison yeah or frozen peas
  • Lynn McGinnis I use frozen baby limas cause we don’t eat them…
