EGGLESS, MILKLESS, BUTTERLESS CAKE
1 c brown sugar
1 1/4 c water
1 c raisins
2 oz citron (cut fine)
1/3 c shortening
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
2 c flour
5 tsp baking powder
boil sugar water fruit shortening salt and spices tighter in saucepan for 3 minutes.
when cool add flour and baking powder which have been sifted together. Mix well. Bake in greased loaf pan in moderate oven about 45 min.
