Turnips have a bitter taste, be prepared. Crisp up Bacon. Cut turnips in like 3/4 inch cubes., add fresh green beans, maybe and little onion (I do) ,and saute with bacon fat. Then add chicken broth to cover and just simmer till all is soft. I add about 3 tbsp. of butter, crumble bacon over just before you ready and serve with cornbread. YUM!
