CHOCOLATE TEXAS CAKE

4 tbsp cocoa

1 stick butter or margarine (1/2 cup)

1 cup milk with 1 tsp lemon juice or white vinegar (to make buttermilk)

1/2 c water

1/2 c crisco oil

Bring the above ingredients to a boil then add

2 cups sugar

2 cups all purpose flour

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp vanilla

2 eggs

mix – preheat oven to 350

pour out onto treated jelly roll pan 11×15

bake 20 minutes

Frosting

8 oz powdered sugar

1/2 stick butter (1/4 c)

2 tbsp cocoa

3 Tbsp warm milk

1 tbsp vanilla

melt butter in pan and add warm milk. remove from heat after butter melts.

in bowl mix sugar and cocoa together till mixed well then add to the melted butter, you may need to add more powdered sugar to make it thicker. Add vanilla last. Spread over cake.

Serve with vanilla ice cream.
