Apple Coffee Cake
From the kitchen of: Denise Musgrove Kellum/Elma Knight Musgrove

Ingredients:
Beat together:
1 ½ cups Wesson oil
2 cups Sugar
2 Eggs

Sift together:
2 ½ cups Plain flour
1 tsp. Baking powder
½ tsp. Soda
½ tsp. Salt

Add:
3 cups Apples (Jonathan or Rome)
1 cup Pecans, chopped

Directions:
1. Mix first seven ingredients together with spoon. (too stiff for mixer)
2. When all mixed, put in apples and nuts last and stir well.
3. Put in well greased and floured 9 x 13 pan.
4. Bake at 325 degrees for about 50 minutes.

Caramel Topping -Apple Coffee Cake

Ingredients:

1 cup Brown sugar, packed
1 stick Margarine
2 Tbsp. Pet milk
½ tsp. Vanilla
1 cup Powdered sugar

Directions:
1. Place brown sugar, margarine, milk and flavoring in boiler and let all come to a good boil.
2. Take off stove and put in powdered sugar and beat gradually.
3. Pour over cake while still warm in pan.
4. Cut into squares when real cold.
