Homemade gummi bears

(made this recipe below.. but then made some changes on the next batch of grape gummi’s.  I posted the changes to the second batch below in RED)

1 small box Jello with sugar (any flavor)

7 envelopes unflavored gelatin (I found seven packets was TOO MUCH.. but this is what the recipe called for so I am leaving you to make that decision, I would use only TWO packets)

1/2 cup water (again if you used only two packets then you should put 1/3 cup water)

Mix in a saucepan until the mixture resembles play dough.

Place pan over low heat and stir until melted.

Was way to thick I thought even after melting so I added a tad more water cause I used the seven packets the first time going by the original recipe..

Once completely melted, pour into plastic candy molds

, and place in the freezer for 5 min.

When very firm, take out of molds . OH and when your trying to take em out put a little corn starch LIGHTLY  on hands and back of gummies.. then use clean hand towel and wipe off excess corn starch and  they will not stick as bad… to each other or to your fingers and tear.. =)

EAT

OK I tried the recipe up top.. the  worked but was was way too thick and I had to add more water so I did some more.. grape jello instead of cherry this time and only used TWO packs of gelatin and 1/3 cup water.. poured out way easier.. and by the way the second batch TASTED much better.. the first was not sweet enough probably due to so much unflavored gelatin…

So now I am doing yet ANOTHER experiment with my gummies I made.. like I said they were definitely gummi texture but the taste could have been better for me.. Sooooooo next time I WILL add a  tiny tiny drop of flavoring to enhance the flavor of my chosen jello..
