2 c sugar

1/2 c butter softened

3 eggs

1 tbsp vinegar

1 tbsp cocoa

1 c buttermilk

1 tsp vanilla

1/4 tsp b powder

1 1/2 tsp soda

1/2 tsp salt

2 1/2 c cake flour

2 oz red food coloring 

Frosting 

1 c milk

1 c butter

1 can coconut

1c pecans

3 tbsp flour

1 tsp vanilla

1 c sugar 

Cream sugar and butter add eggs make paste of vinegar cocoa and coloring. Sift dry ingredients add to butter mixture. Alternate with buttermilk blend in vanilla. Pour into greased and wax paper lined then greased again pans 8-inch. Bake at 350 for 30 min.

Frosting- Cook milk and flour till thick in medium saucepan. Cream sugar and butter add to cooked flour mixture. Stir in last ingredients allow cake and frosting to cool. Frost each layer.
