Old Fashion Peanut Butter Fudge

Plate Candy

2 cups white sugar
2 tablespoons butter (real or tubbed)
3/4 cup milk (I used canned milk)
4 tablespoons peanut butter

Add sugar, butter and milk in a heavy pot
Cook on medium to medium high til you reach soft ball stage.
(Soft ball ~ drizzle mixture from a spoon into a small cup of cold water-
will form a soft ball that you can roll with your finger, OR use a candy thermometer)
Don’t over cook soft ball stage or you will have hard fudge.
Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter til melted and mixture is smooth.
Pour onto a large buttered plate
Let cool, cut into squares.

I’ve been searching and searching for a recipe, atleast close, to what my Mom use to make.
All I remember was her saying “butter the size of an egg” and she used canned milk. I, do believe,
this is as close as I’ll ever get to her recipe!!! Oh Happy Day!!!
