Venison is a lovely meat, contrary to what you may have heard. It is NOT to be treated like beef.. it is very lean with almost no fat. If you OVERCOOK your venison it will be tough as horse hide and not very pleasant. The key to enjoying your venison is to learn how to cook it. You can also tenderize it before frying it. but like I said the main thing is DO NOT OVERCOOK.. should be very pink in center, don’t worry your not eating it raw, it has hardly NO fat content. I have posted a few pics for you.

you can do so much with your deer meat. you can ….

  • CAN IT (recipe posted in canning section)

  • You can cut it up into chunks for soup meat and FREEZE IT..

I love to make baggies of the chunked meat and when I put on my brown soup beans

I throw the meat in the crock pot with the beans and it gives it SUCH a wonderful flavor
