Creamy Pasta with Bacon and Peas

Ingredients
• 12 ounces dried pasta of your choice
• 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
• 2 shallots, minced
• 1/2 cup (about 3 ounces) chopped cooked bacon pieces
• 1 cup of frozen peas, thawed
• 1 cup half-and-half
• salt and freshly ground pepper
• Parmesan cheese, optional
