¼ pound of cheese grated or cut into small pieces

3 cups of rice, already cooked

Milk as needed

Bread crumbs

 

Directions:

 

Put the cooked rice into a buttered baking dish, to form a thin bottom layer. Sprinkle with some of the cheese and alternate layers of rice and cheese.

 

Pour milk over the layers until it comes halfway to the top of the rice

 

Cover with buttered crumbs and bake in the oven until the bread crumbs are golden brown, about half an hour in a 350 degree oven.

 

VARIATIONS: If desired, add finely chopped or diced green peppers, slightly sauteed, to the rice in this recipe.
