RECIPE SUBMITTED BY Shana Davidson Watson
Would love to share a recipe for those, who like me, love sauerkraut. My aunt used to make these for me when I was a teenager & I got the recipe from her just 3 weeks before she passed away. They’re my husbands favorite
  • German Sauerkraut Balls

1 1/2 pounds Hamburger 1/2 pound sausage 1 can Kraut (drained well) 2 tbsps minced garlic (or however much you like) Salt & Pepper to taste 4 eggs Cornflake crumbs ( I buy the Kellogs but you can crush your own if you want)

Mix hamburger, sausage, garlic, kraut, salt & pepper together with hands til all blended. Roll into 1 to 1 1/2 inch balls.

Put eggs in a shallow bowl & slightly mix with fork. Place cornflake crumbs in shallow bowl also.

Roll meat balls in egg then in cornflake crumbs till coated. Deep fry over Medium High heat, slowly but boiling. (make sure oil is hot when dropping balls in)
