Yakimondu Recipe (Korean)

I don’t have a precise recipe but here’s what I do:

1 lb. of ground beef

2 or 3 carrots (grated or diced fine)

About less than a quarter of the cabbage head (diced fine)

About 1/3 of an onion (diced fine)

Add soy sauce- about 10 or so sprinkles

minced garlic (or garlic powder) – I just use my own judgement

Mix all the ingredients up in a bowl. Heat oil on less than medium. Keep a cup full of water and use your hand to dab water across the entire side of the wonton wrapper that you are placing the meat mixture on, put one spoonful of meat mixture on one half of wrap. Fold the wonton wrapper over the meat mixture until it looks like a little taco and seal it by pressing a fork to create ridges along the opened edges.

Make several of these and then add them to the hot oil. They fry quickly so watch them closely. Turn when golden brown on one side and continue to fry the other side.

*They work better with the circular Korean style wrappers but it’s difficult to find them in some areas, so wonton wrappers will work.
