5 c. All-Purpose Flour

3/4 c. Shortening

3 tsp. Baking Powder

1 tsp. Salt

1 tsp. Baking Soda

1 Tbsp. Sugar

1 pkg, Yeast

1/2 c. Warm Water

2 c. Buttermilk 

Directions: 

Dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside.

Cut shortening in flour. Add dry ingredients and sift through sifter. Put in plastic bowl. Add yeast and buttermilk to dry mixture. Mix well with hands. Cover bowl tightly with lid and store in refrigerator until needed (at least over-night).

To bake, put a little flour on dough and squeeze out biscuit mixture. Shape biscuits. Oil pan. Place each biscuit in oil. Turn biscuits over (this greases top of biscuit) Bake at 425 degrees until done.
