NOTE Alcohol will evaporate in oven

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup sugar

1 cup red table wine

4 teaspoons baking powder

3/4 cup vegetable oil (NEVER olive oil)

Preheat oven to 375. Combine dry ingredients. Mix wet ingredients into dry with a wooden spoon until incorporated. Knead dough until smooth. Cut thin pieces of dough similar in size to a pencil and roll on a wooden board until long enough to knot. After each biscuit is knotted, place on non-stick cookie sheet and brush tops with milk (egg yolk may also be used). Bake 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden on top, but not too brown. Squisito!! (delicious!). Serves approximately 8.
