Sweet N Sour Cocktail Wieners

I got this recipe years ago from my Aunt Valerie Farruggia. It’s a good one. I have used it for years. I like the all beef cocktail wieners the best but you can do this with any of them, or even with the little frozen meatballs .. I personally don’t care for those but have done them several times. This is always a hit and no matter how many I stick on the pot, they always eat them till they are gone.

note- adjust the following recipe according to the amount of people you will be serving.. I will add some suggestions for your adjustments

1 small pkg sausage smokeys wieners
1 Huge pkg or 2 -3 small all beef little wieners  for small gathering (for larger gatherings I like to get at least 3 big pkgs from Sam’s Club)

1 Tbsp. Lemon Juice

1 bottle chili sauce (you find this in the ketchup and A1 isle I use Walmart Brand for this and sometimes I buy an extra just in case I need it)

Original recipe calls for 1 8oz bottle Kraft honey BBQ Sauce but I use Sweet Baby Rays Honey BBQ and of course bigger bottle if serving more wieners

1 1/2 bottles welches grape jelly  (for larger crowd I buy the really big one they sell at Walmart in the economy size isle it’s 4.98$

 

In Crock Pot ,heat BBQ, chili sauce, and grape jelly simmer until grape jelly dissolves into sauce add lemon juice and wieners simmer 2 hrs serve hot

can also do this in pot on stove if you want it done right then.
