1 C. Buttermilk

1 Teas. Vanilla

2 C. Sugar

1 Teas. Baking Soda

1 T. Butter

3 C. Pecan halves

 

Mix together in deep heavy pan buttermilk, sugar and baking soda. Cook on medium heat until mixture bubbles and turns brownish in color at soft ball stage (I use a candy thermometer). Stir constantly.

 

Remove from heat and add butter, vanilla and pecans. Beat until glossy. Spoon onto waxed paper and let cool. ENJOY!
