“SQUIRREL OF MEAT” ( MEAT PIE MADE OF LEFTOVER FRIED SQUIRREL) recipe for fried squirrel on this site

can do the same with Rabbit FYI

Leftovers from my fried squirrel dinner –


boiled buttered potatoes (can use mashed potatoes as well)

peas

dark gravy made from the squirrel stock

and fried squirrel

you will need to add the following ingredients in order to make TWO pies:

1 can of condensed cream of chicken soup

butter

salt and pepper

little bit of shredded cheddar cheese  (about 1/3 to 1/4 cup for each pie)

make enough pie dough to roll out two rounds for toppers.. not using a bottom for this dish. (you can if you wish but I am not)

add green beans

 

Put your leftovers in one container the night before and cover.

Make your pie crust the night before  wrapped tight in plastic or make it an hour or so before you need it so it has time to chill

Roll out dough for pies

take two pie dishes and layer in your potatoes and squirrel ect.. all of the leftovers mounding  it high in the middle.

salt and pepper well.

dot the tops with butter randomly, and I have cheese mixed throughout

take one can of cream of chicken soup WITHOUT adding water.. and put half on each pie..

take tops put over each pie.. using hands around edges to smooth and keep mound piled high.  then cut slits down the sides and a X in the middle to vent

 

take one egg add a little milk and stir with fork . add a tiny tad of basil and brush onto pie

Shake pepper over pie

 

preheat oven to 400

Put pies on cookie sheet

Bake about 25 minutes

if top is not golden by then put on broil and watch then take out and let sit to rest..

then cut and serve.

NOTE I made fried chicken yesterday and fried green tomatoes and served this as the side  but can be a main meal as well as it has meat veggies all in there..
