My Mom (Shelma’s) Pea Salad ~ I have seen her take this to picnics, like BBQ’S and Burgers,  and I have seen her make this a side with heavy meals too like Meatloaf…. so really this is a side dish you can pretty much have with whatever… people seem to love it. My brother Kelly absolutely drools over this stuff. I can eat it.. (heck I can eat anything) but this is not my favorite way to enjoy peas..  Try this you may like it.. it is VERY easy and makes a nice side dish that people don’t expect.

MOM’S PEA SALAD

2 cans peas in bowl, regular yellow mustard, and mayonnaise, not much, add and stir.. Colby Cheese shredded to taste.. stir, add chopped onion to taste. Salt Pepper.

As you can see mom served it up this time with her famous Homemade Mac n Cheese (recipe on this site as well) her meatloaf mashed potatoes and beans with wieners (two bowls, one without onions for my hubby lol)

  • Pam Turner Breen My mom made this a lot too…she used mayo, onions, chopped boiled eggs can peas….loved it…..basically potato salad recipe…just swap out taters for peas 🙂

    We used mayo, onions and boiled eggs and shredded carrot and frozen peas thrawed of course….yum….my friend puts chick peas in hers.
