SERENA’S FAKE LO MEIN ON THE FLY

when you want a taste of lo mein and you don’t wanna go out

you use what you should already have on hand

Put a good amount of thin noodles in.a pot to boil

meanwhile, in a wok

add a tab of butter and minced onion, minced garlic, thinly chopped celery, a little ginger, a squirt of honey and a pinch of red pepper flakes


next make a slurry in a cup

Put in 1 heaping tbsp of cornstarch and add a little water mix with fork , drop in two chicken bullion cubes  and let sit to the side till ready to use


add in some chicken broth

I am using a 32 oz

i don’t use all of it, i start with some and use a lot of it as I go

I add some black pepper and some Soy Sauce

and some honey as well as my cornstarch slurry

let it come to boil and stir well will thicken


add your noodles and another tab of butter

(this is not Asian but I am Sicilian and I have to add Parmesan to almost everything haha so I add a little shake of Parmesan)

add a little soy sauce right on your noodles

toss noodles and add a little more chicken broth and taste and add more honey

toss well may need to add a little more chicken stock

taste to see how you like it
