SCRATCH ANGEL FOOD CAKE

 

1 1/2 cup egg whites

1 1/2 teasp cream of tarter

1 cup granulated sugar

1/8 tsp salt

1 Tsp clear vanilla

1 cup all purpose flour

1 1/2 cup confectionary sugar

 

Beat egg whites till feathery,

 

 

 

 

add cream of tarter beat till stiff but not dry

.

 

 

 

 

Add granulated sugar a little at a time. Add salt and vanilla.

 

 

 

 

Sift together flour and powdered sugar three times.

 

 

 

 

Add to mixture and fold in gently with spatula till incorporated.

 

 

 

 

Pour into sprayed pan and run knife through batter for air bubbles

 

 

 

 

Bake in tube pan 65 minutes (or less)  at 325 degree oven.

 

 

 

 

 

Enjoy with fresh fruit or custard
