1/2 c. Butter or Margarine

2 (1 oz) Squares of unsweetened chocolate

1 cup sugar

1/2 c sifted flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 c chopped walnuts

2 eggs

Melt butter and choc together in saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in sugar flour baking powder vanilla and futs. Add eggs and beat thoroughly. Spread in greased 9x9x2 pan. Bake in moderate oven 350 for 30 minutes. Dust with confectionary sugar.  Cut into 18 bars to serve as cookies or in 9 squares to serve as dessert topped with vanilla ice cream. Chocolate fans may wish to pour a choc dessert sauce over the ice cream.
